The Águilas City Council is committed to making this website accessible in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018, of September 7, on accessibility of websites and applications for mobile devices in the public sector, which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

The Águilas City Council strives to ensure that its digital services are accessible to people with disabilities and has invested significant resources to help ensure access to all users, including people with disabilities, with the firm conviction that all people have the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

Digital accessibility is not just a goal we want to achieve, but an ongoing commitment that we carry out in all aspects of our digital service delivery. We recognize that this requires continuous monitoring, improvement and adaptation.

Accessibility tools implemented

A key element of our accessibility initiative is our collaboration with UserWay, an external accessibility consulting organization, to help the website meet the requirements. To do this, we use industry-standard accessibility methods and tools, in accordance with the  Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 level AA) established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the main international Internet standardization organization.

The UserWay accessibility widget allows users to:

  • Adjust the text size
  • Modify the spacing between lines and letters
  • Switch to high contrast
  • Activate reading cursor
  • Use optimized keyboard navigation
  • And other personalization features
